November 21, 2014
Gavin Friday will play various roles among which Uncle Ernie and the Acid Queen in Hal Willner and Eric Mingus’s re-interpretation of the rock opera Tommy exclusively at the Adelaide Festival in Australia, this coming February.
The Who’s 1969 rock opera Tommy launched the band to international superstardom and inspired re-interpretations in film, opera, a stage musical and more.
With Pete Townshend’s blessing, the double-album is re-interpreted by vocalist, bassist and composer Eric Mingus and legendary producer Hal Willner, featuring an eclectic cast in the starring roles, including Gavin Friday.
Festival goers will also get the chance to see Gavin Friday perform ‘Nothing Like The Sun’ with composer Gavin Bryars.
