  • Interference at Vicar Street

    Gavin and Maurice will be appearing at the Interference show at Vicar Street in Dublin on June 6. Tickets are 17.50 and can be booked through Ticketmaster.ie.

  • Peter and the Wolf finds publisher

    The Peter and the Wolf DVD/book project in aid of the Irish Hospice Foundation will be published by Bloomsbury on October 1st this year. The DVD will feature Prokofiev’s Peter and the Wolf as played by the Friday/Seezer ensemble and narrated by Gavin Friday, as well as footage of Gavin, Maurice and the Friday/Seezer Ensemble during the recording process. The book features drawings by Bono and his children.

  • Superstar DJ’s

    Gavin and Guggi will be ‘celeb DJs’ at Lillie’s Bordello in Dublin on Wednesday April 30th. It’s a charity event in aid of the Sheriff Street after school education project. Tickets at the door (10 Euro), doors open at 11. They’ll spin discs for about two hours and a Gavin and Guggi painting will be raffled.

  • ‘In America’ release postponed

    The release date for Jim Sheridan’s In America has been put back till November 26. You can watch a trailer including Gavin and Maurice’s music on Fox Searchlight’s site. The song for the film, written by Friday, Seezer and Bono and sung by Andrea Corr has been recorded. Gavin and Maurice will be working with Sheridan within the next few weeks to add the song to the film.

  • Brown Thomas Fashion Show: Dublin’s Spire revealed

    Gavin appeared at the Brown Thomas Fashion Show last Thursday, leading the male celeb models down the catwalk. He crouched down at the end to open his flies and revealed a long inflatable copy of the ‘Dublin Spire’, a needle-like monument on Dublin’s O’Connell Street. Callers to the Joe Duffy show (RTE radio) on Friday morning complained Gavin’s behaviour was ‘lewd and disgusting’. In response, Gavin stated he was ‘only taking the mickey!’ One caller suggested Gavin was, of course, wearing more clothes than most of the female models at the show.

  • Brown Thomas Fashion Show 2003

    Gavin will be walking the catwalk alongside Guggi and The Edge at The Brown Thomas International Fashion Show in Dublin on the 23rd. The event is set to raise over €700,000 for three children’s charities Chernobyl Children’s Project, ISPCC and The Christina Noble Foundation. More info.   • Peter and the Wolf Box set makes 2 million Euro for hospice

    RTE 2FM DJ Dave Fanning rang Gavin during his show devoted to ‘celebrity auctions’ on Wednesday. We caught the tail end of the interview, just after Gavin announced the Peter and the Wolf box set has already made 2 million Euro for the Irish Hospice.
